Your Warranty.Every Detail.
Your SumZero installation comes with a limited extended labor warranty — administered through a licensed warranty program and backed by a funded claims reserve. This page covers exactly what is covered, what is not, and what keeps your coverage valid.
Program Overview
What This Warranty Is
This is a limited labor warranty. It covers the labor cost to diagnose and repair equipment failures on covered systems — not parts, not the structure, not unrelated systems. The manufacturer covers defective parts under their own warranty. SumZero covers the labor to complete the repair.
Labor + refrigerant to diagnose and repair covered system failures
Parts — covered by manufacturer. Maintenance. Third-party repairs.
SumZero technicians only. Third-party repairs void coverage on that claim.
Annual professional inspection — Comfort Club satisfies this automatically
$5,000 total over the life of the warranty, per covered system
Transfers to the next homeowner when the property is sold
How It Works
Simple When You Need It
You call SumZero. We come out, diagnose the problem, and if it's a covered failure, we complete the repair at no charge. No claim forms for you to file. No waiting for a third party to authorize the work. You just need to have your annual inspection on record.
Call SumZero before any repair begins — (508) 965-0046
We dispatch a technician to diagnose the issue on your covered system
If it's a covered failure, we complete the repair — labor and refrigerant at no cost to you
Only SumZero technicians can perform covered repairs. Third-party work voids that claim.
Coverage Scope
What Every Claim Covers
Diagnostic Labor
The labor to identify a covered failure — the service call itself. Covered regardless of whether a repair follows, as long as a covered failure is found.
Repair Labor
Labor to remove the failed component, install the manufacturer-warranted replacement, and return the system to working condition. Parts themselves are covered by the manufacturer separately.
Refrigerant
Refrigerant is covered when a leak is permanently repaired or a covered component is replaced as part of a covered repair. Not covered for diagnostic-only service calls.
Thermostat Labor
Labor to diagnose and replace a faulty thermostat associated with a covered system. Capped at $250 over the life of the warranty.
Maximum aggregate coverage over the full warranty term. Applies per covered system, per policy. Claims reduce the remaining aggregate — they do not reset annually.
Eligible Equipment
Systems Covered
Coverage terms vary by system type. Heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, and water heaters qualify for 10-year coverage. Indoor air quality equipment and chimney-vented water heaters qualify for 5 years. The Schedule of Coverage in your warranty agreement specifies the exact system covered.
A “system” means one outdoor unit (condenser or heat pump) and its directly associated indoor components. If a home has both a heat pump and a furnace, those are two separate systems — each requires its own warranty to be covered.

Annual Maintenance Requirement
Keep Your Coverage Valid
Your warranty requires at least one professional inspection per year. Skipping an inspection puts coverage on that system at risk. Comfort Club is the simplest way to stay in compliance — it documents system condition before any claim is ever filed.

Annual inspection that satisfies your warranty's maintenance requirement. Priority scheduling, preferred pricing on repairs, and a documented service record — all in one annual visit.
